Reflection of Readings

Reflection of Readings

Photo-Ops:

This reading covers photography from all perspectives. It provides the reader with the idea that beauty is all around us, and taking a photograph can capture that essence. When you approach the photograph from different angles and point of views it can allow the viewer to interpret the photograph differently. Exploration can only improve a photographer’s experience. The basic techniques talked about in this reading provide the perfect in site to the world of photography

Chapter 2:

This reading really reminded me of my History of Photography class that I took last semester. We talked a lot about photography and how it was a struggle to become an art form. I find it interesting that photography really did serve its purpose of documenting, but that evolved into an art form through experimentation. The line between documentary and art photography is often blurred for example I can think of Robert Frank, who documented the back roads of America. I can also see his photography as an art. He chose to photography non-stereotypical American, by turning the camera way from the norms of the American society.
